This is a new ad from my friend and Arizona State Senate hopeful, Beth Weisser. We live in a heavily laden GOP "Good ole Boy's" district, so when the Weisser for Senate tv ads were pulled with no warning, I wasn't surprised in the least. Talk about expecting "entitlements" ! Ron Gould expects to have an easy walk back to his senate seat. That's just what he'll get if Democrats stay home on election day! Make those calls, talk to your friends and family! Get the word out about how important each and every vote is in this election!

AG Terry Goddard: On The Job For Arizona
Attorney General Terry Goddard today announced the indictment of 16 individuals believed to be members of a Mexican drug cartel that smuggled large quantities of marijuana, cocaine and heroin into Arizona. They have been charged with conspiracy, illegally conducting an enterprise and other crimes related to their involvement.
The defendants include Roque Aceves-Beltran, 45; Rey Cuen-Villareal, 38, of Phoenix; Teresa Cuen-Leon, 33, of Phoenix; Evodio Cruz-Beltran, 39, of Los Angeles; and Jose Munoz-Alcaraz, 49, of Mexico. The remaining defendants will not be named until they are served.
“Today, Arizona law enforcement strikes another blow against the cartels' smuggling efforts. These organized criminals are highly sophisticated smugglers,” Goddard said. “We must expand our efforts to investigate and dismantle the cartels to truly secure our border with Mexico.”
Beginning in 2009, the Phoenix Police Department and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration began an investigation into the cartel and its drug-smuggling operations. The persons indicted were responsible for importing significant quantities of marijuana, cocaine and heroin into the United States through southern Arizona and into the Phoenix area. From Phoenix, the drugs were shipped to Illinois, North Carolina and other states.
Drugs or money were often hidden within the drive shafts of the defendants' vehicles as they crossed the border. During the execution of a warrant, officers found three disassembled drive shafts at the residence of one of the suspects. Two of the drive shafts were packed with large quantities of cocaine.
In another instance, officers stopped a southbound vehicle and found $143,500 hidden within the drive shaft. In total, this investigation led to the seizure of 36 pounds of cocaine, four pounds of heroin, 40 pounds of marijuana and close to $2.25 million in racketeering proceeds.
This case was investigated by the Phoenix Police Department and the U. S. Drug Enforcement Administration. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant Attorney General Matt Conti.

Clean Elections Commission Unanimously Clears Jason Williams

"I'd like to thank the Commission for the time they put into reviewing the complaint and ultimately for the decision that they reached. As I would often tell my students, just because someone calls you a name, it doesn't mean it's true. As we've seen, the allegations made by my primary opponent and her supporter were completely based on nothing but innuendo and speculation."
"I am proud to be the only Democrat in this race to be running as a Clean candidate. As we know, Clean Elections is the most transparent system of elections."
"It's unfortunate that my primary opponent chose to engage in this type of status quo politics at this time. This election is far too important for our children and our state. This is precisely the type of status quo politics that I and the majority of Arizona voters are anxious to abandon. Going into the final days of the primary election, I would hope this would be the last example of this type of politically-motivated tactic by my primary opponent so we can focus on doing what's right for our kids."
"I'm proud that my campaign has consistently been a positive campaign focused on ideas and real solutions to the challenges facing public education in Arizona. This is what we need to be talking about. This is what I will address when I am state Superintendent."

Mohave County Democratic Party
The Mohave County Democratic Party is the official arm of the National Democratic Party for Mohave County. We can provide you with the opportunity to help shape our state and national political systems' operational methods. Democrats believe in progressive government that promotes freedom, fiscal responsibility, security, health and education. We encourage you to help us make these a priority.
If you feel uncomfortable with how the Republican minority operates; with their relentless chatter about "no tax and spend" economics and their blatant eagerness to see the ultimate failure of President Barack Obama, you are not alone. Many others believe as you do. However, it is not good enough to complain to your friends. Too much is at stake: your job security, the economy, your freedoms, and your safety. You need to get involved and do something that makes a difference.
