A Sad Day For #Arizona, A Sad Day For America

 Fellow Democrats --

Today is truly a sad day for all Arizonans. With the passage of the divisive, shameful SB1070, Jan Brewer has set the clock back decades to a time of injustice and bigotry. 

Arizona has become a joke to the rest of America. We have seen nonstop local and national coverage of this bill and the "birther" bill all week long. I have never seen the state profiled on CNN so many times in one week, let alone one day! 

Brewer and her right-wing Legislature have done serious damage to our state. The far-reaching impact is not yet known, but it's safe to say that it will be devastating for our economy and the citizens of our once-great state.

 

While the Republicans have done nothing to address the issues of our failing economy, our collapsing public education and our crumbling State Parks system, they have invested an incredible amount of time passing legislation that allows anyone to carry a concealed weapon without a license, a "birther" bill and finally SB1070, which fundamentally infringes on Arizonans' rights as set forth by the Constitution. 

The madness must stop!  We need a leadership change, starting with Jan Brewer.

Please give what you can to ensure we have the resources necessary to elect a true statesman as governor and to win back seats in the Legislature so it can do the job of governing Arizona again. Please consider giving $35, $50, $100 or more as soon as you can.

We must strike now, and we must be prepared for a tough battle in November.
